Wednesday Thoughts...and tulips!

Let your roots grow down into Him and draw up nourishment from Him. See that you go on growing in the Lord, and become strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all he has done. Do not let others spoil your faith and joy with their philosophies, their wrong and shallow answers built on man's thoughts and ideas, instead of on what Christ has said. For in Christ there is all of God in a human body; so you have everything when you have Christ, and you are filled with God through your union with Christ. He is the highest Ruler, with authority over every power.

~ Colossians 3:7-10 ~

A wonderful lady shared this verse with me this morning. She had no way of knowing how important it was for me to hear these words today. So these thoughts are not my own, but I hope that the Holy Spirit will speak to you through them, and you will find comfort in his word.

Creamsicle tulips! ^
On another note, last weekend we took a drive to the tulip festival! It was so beautiful. Along the roadside a sign was posted saying, "God loves you. He gives you flowers every spring!" Cheesy isn't it? But in its simplicity it is still a wonderful thought.

Hello Heidi,
I've been enjoying your blog after viewing the lovely pictures of your silk Regency gown on the Sensibility forum.
From what version did this verse come? It's such a refreshing word!

This is a wonderful verse to read. A professor of mine gave it to me as encouragement once, and it has always remained an inspiration.

I just realized though, that I had the reference wrong. It is actually Colossians 2:7-10. I'm sorry about that, probably very confusing if you were trying to find the translation.

After looking it up, I have discovered that the translation it is from is the New Living Translation.
