Sunbonnets

It's hard to believe, that after so many years of historical sewing I have never made a sunbonnet. Finally however, I got the opportunity!

This is a slat sunbonnet, meaning that "slats" hold the brim out, shading the face. In this case they are cardboard, traditionally I think they would have been thin strips of wood.

So fun! Glad to see your getting to sew more than your quilt. :) Not that it wouldn't be splendid for you to get to work on your quilt...I can't wait to see it finished! But it's fun to be inspired by your historic sewing. I miss you, sewing buddy. *sigh*

Yeah... no progress on my quilt. I ran out of muslin and have been putting off buying it. I am making a really cool jacket for my Mom's birthday. I'll share pictures when I'm done.

Thanks for the award. I've never done one of these before, but I'll try!
