So, while I'm not sewing (boohoohoo) how about you tell me what you are making. If you are in need of inspiration, why not try making this little bag. I made it last year for my Jenny, and it was a quick easy way to use up some cute bits of fabric. If you want something simpler, these little clips look like a fun project. Or how about crocheting your own recycled sandals out of grocery bags (picture #2). Have fun!

A three year old girl, who I was babysitting, found this pincushion in my bedroom and started playing with it and her stuffed animals. I overheard her say to her puppy dog, "now these are the little heart pokers."
Well obviously they are pokers, I wonder who was the silly person who thought we should call them pins! :D

It is actually a joint venture between my Mom and I. We both love to sew, but we can't possibly keep everything for ourselves. So, hopefully someone out there in cyberspace can be blessed by our handmade things.
I hope you can drop by soon!

On top of the stack, German Poems 1800-1850. Slow reading, but look at the beautiful text.
In the middle, The Best Known Works of Henry Ibsen. I couldn't resist, remembering a line from one of my favorite books: "Amatoor dramatics, sir. There's a club of us, rehearses parts whenever we come across one another. It's an Ibsen play, Do you know it?" ~A Monstrous Regiment of Women by Laurie R. King.
And of course on the bottom a book I check out frequently, The Cut of Women's Clothes by Norah Waugh. Very inspiring.

The fabric is simply scrumptious! It is a reproduction carpet from the 1800's, made by Family Heirloom Weavers. They are such a great company. Just last week we got a box in the mail with a chunk of Regency reproduction carpet. Incredible is too dull a word to describe its beauty, it was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
This is a close up picture of the frame, which my talented neighbor makes for me. That is also the lining scrunched up down there, I am waiting to attach it until after the handles are attached. There is a board in the bottom to give our bag some shape, and there are four large pockets in the lining.

Oh excuse me for walking so slow, I was just admiring the general splendor.
Now this flower certainly complements your fine eyes.
The glories of nature. What are men compared to rocks and mountains
They are much to be pitied who have not been given a taste for nature early in life.
You must see this sculpture; it never ceases to give me pleasure.
Laugh as much as you choose, but you will not laugh me out of my opinion.
My dear, there is no need to hide. The gardener will not be bothered by us.
You are too kind in your flattery. May I ask whether these pleasing attentions proceed from the impulse of the moment, or are they the result of previous study?
It was a delightful visit—perfect, in being much too short.

Yet he (Abraham) did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully pursuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why "it was credited to him as righteousness."
