A long post of not much importance

I have a confession to make.

I am obsessed with the periodic table of the elements.

It probably started back in high school, but it was definitely furthered by my fabulous (slightly eccentric) chemistry teacher* in college. (if you are wondering how this relates to sewing just keep reading) I waste time playing these addicting games, http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/Elementsgames.htm and I sing this song at the top of my lungs, http://www.privatehand.com/flash/elements.html when I'm alone in the car of course!

Well, today I found Etsy.

Of course I have been on Etsy before, but today I actually sat down and started searching for fun. And my heart nearly failed, for what did I see,

Element Earrings

An Element Tote Bag

An Element Mouse Pad
And be still my heart,

Element Pillows!!!

Now, I'm not sure about you, but I can't exactly afford thirty dollar pillows, and I don't even really like throw pillows (I throw them off the bed every evening, and back on the bed every morning???) so my brain started a spinning. How about an embroidered periodic table of the elements quilt! It's every girl's dream isn't it?

I'll let you know if it ever materializes (unfortunately my signal flag quilt never did). But I just thought you might like to know how my little brain works. :)

If you ever might need earrings, bag, mouse pad, or throw pillows with the elements on them, here are the individual listings:

*I want no confusion over this issue, my chemistry teacher was fabulous! I mean eccentric in the absolute best sense of the word. If you ever desire three terms in college chem (warning: it leads to periodic table addiction) I would highly recommend this teacher.

Wow! You should definitely make a quilt! That would be awesome. :) You can do it!
